UNC Basketball earns No. 1 seed in 2024 NCAA Tournament
The 2024 NCAA Tournament bracket is official, as the UNC basketball program earned a No. 1 seed in this year's event.
North Carolina earned the final No. 1 seed, which comes in the West Region, as they will face the winner of Tuesday night's matchup between Howard and Wagner on Thursday night in Charlotte, North Carolina.
If there was ever the slightest bit of doubt, of course North Carolina and Arizona are in the same bracket. The Wildcats, led by former Tar Heel Caleb Love, are the No. 2 seed in the West Region, as there's a potential Elite Eight matchup between Love's current and former teams.
Baylor, who we all remember played the Tar Heels during the 2022 national championship game run, are the No. 3 seed in this bracket, while Alabama earned the No. 4 seed. Another familiar group is within this bracket, as Clemson, who beat the Tar Heels during the regular season, are the No. 6 seed.
If North Carolina wins its first-round matchup, it will play the winner of Mississippi State and Michigan on Saturday in Charlotte.
You have to be happy that the committee felt the UNC basketball program was worthy of a No. 1 seed, as the ACC Regular Season champions are regarded as one of the top teams around. With the field now set, who knows what could happen, as the best teams will battle it out on the court over the next couple of weeks.
Now, let the games begin!
