The incoming freshman class for the UNC basketball program has the makings of being special.

Not only is five-star Ian Jackson heading to Chapel Hill, but arguably the most underrated player in the Class of 2025. Even though he's recognized as a five-star talent, Drake Powell doesn't necessarily earn the hype that he deserves, as he's proving just how good he is against some of the country's top talents.

Powell was selected to participate in the Jayson Tatum Elite Camp, as he was just one of 14 players to earn the opportunity. Fresh off earning his first NBA title, Tatum hosts this invite-only camp for the top high school and college wings in the country.

Similar to what RJ Davis and Elliot Cadeau are experiencing at the CP3 Elite Camp, Powell is gaining the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to play at the highest level and how to prepare for the hurdles he (and his fellow campers) will face in both the college ranks and the professional level.

As seen in the above video clip, Powell was simply ballin out while competing in the college and pro runs of the event. His play was so eye-popping that the Elite Youth Basketball social media team put together the clip to showcase the highlights. From a two-handed slam dunk to various mid-range and three-point baskets, Powell showed a little glimpse of what he can do offensively, which adds to what we've already heard about his defensive skillset.

It appears as if Powell is ready to make an impact right away at the college ranks, as this valuable experience he's gaining as part of this camp will only help him further progress. Ultimately, Powell's goal is to be ready to contribute right away for the UNC basketball program, as he's put in the work to contend for minutes right out of the gate.
