For the third time in as many seasons, both UNC basketball programs will once again compete in the annual Jumpman Invitation.

On Monday, the official dates for this year's event were released, as it will once again be held at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Below is the first look at how the schedule will play out.

The UNC basketball program will compete against the Florida Gators on Tuesday, December 17. The UNC women's basketball program will take on the Gators the following day on December 18. Game times for all four games of the event are still to be determined.

North Carolina's men's team has had early success in this event, winning each of their first two matchups. In the inaugural event, the Tar Heels defeated Michigan by a score of 80-76, while they followed up that victory with a 81-69 win over Oklahoma last season.

Courtney Banghart's team is 1-1 in the event, as they lost to Michigan in the first year of the Jumpman Invitation while earning some redemption last season with a 61-52 victory over Oklahoma.

The event has served as a strong non-conference test for both UNC basketball programs, as the Tar Heels have competed against some quality teams while participating in it. This year will serve as the final set of matchups of the inaugural teams, as now each participating university will have competed against each of the other teams at least once.

For Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program, the goal is to remain perfect in this event, while Courtney Banghart's squad looks to build on last year's victory.

Of course, when you think of the Jumpman Invitational, it's hard not to think about the University of North Carolina, given that Michael Jordan's rise to stardom began in Chapel Hill.
