UNC Basketball: Cormac Ryan posts heartfelt farewell message on social media

The 2023-2024 college basketball season for the UNC basketball program ended a few weeks back, as most of the players took time to reflect on the past year before posting on social media.

One of those players was Cormac Ryan, a transfer who only had one year of eligibility to work with. It's safe to say that Ryan made the most of his season in Chapel Hill, as he played a major role in helping the UNC basketball program secure a ACC regular season title while following it up with a trip to the Sweet 16.

Ryan didn't need to write a full paragraph to express his feelings: he was able to do it with just one simple line.

"Thank you for changing my life."

In his social media post, Ryan shared some photos and videos of some of his favorite memories as a Tar Heel, as fans will likely remember those same moments rather fondly. The very last photo is one that will also shed some light as to how Ryan actually found his way to Chapel Hill, as one of his teammates got on the recruiting trail to bring him to North Carolina.

Of course, that player is none other than Armando Bacot, who send Ryan this Instagram message back at the end of March 2023. Not sure if Bacot will take the credit for it, but it definitely panned out, as Ryan coming to North Carolina was a really good (and much needed) addition.

Sure, Ryan wow'd us with his three-point shooting at times (we'll ALL remember the Duke game to close out the regular season), but his leadership, toughness and passion for the University of North Carolina will always be remembered.
