UNC Basketball: Class of 2025 big man narrows recruitment to 11 programs
The UNC basketball program wasn't the first school involved in the recruitment of 7-footer Eric Reibe, but they seem to be right in the thick of things as his recruitment heats up.
Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels extended an offer to Reibe on June 30, and just a few weeks later found themselves included in his top 11.
North Carolina is one of the handful of schools still in the mix, as.Creighton, Harvard, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford, UConn, and West Virginia make up the remainder of the field.
While you may think that the UNC basketball program is behind due to Reibe already taking official visits, think again. The Potomac, Maryland native has visited three schools officially thus far: Creighton, Iowa and Harvard, and as you can see from the list above, the Hawkeyes are no longer in the mix.
His size and skill set make him a valuable recruiting target, as he is developing into a player who can be more than just a post player offensively while also being a strong defender of the rim. The UNC basketball program has had a rich history of big men come through Chapel Hill, as Reibe could ultimately be the next in line if he so chooses to come to North Carolina.
The recruiting trail for the Class of 2025 is certainly hot, as there's been plenty of movement as we inch closer to the finish line. Sure, we might not get some final decisions right away, but it will be important to keep tabs on the players who are still very much considering the UNC basketball program, including the recruitment of Reibe, who is one of the top centers available in this class.
