Schools within the Atlantic Coast Conference have added some significant talent via the transfer portal this offseason.

At this point, 247Sports has provided the top ACC basketball transfers heading into next season, as the UNC basketball program's lone transfer thus far earned the top spot on the list.

Belmont transfer Cade Tyson earned the top spot on the list, as the Tar Heels brought in one of the best available shooters. Tyson was a priority target for Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program in the transfer portal, as his elite shooting ability is something the Tar Heels looked to add this offseason.

This past season, Tyson was a lethal offensive weapon, averaging 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Based on the NCAA's criteria for three-point shooting percentage, Tyson ranked second nationally for the 2023-2024 season.

Tyson seems to be a great fit for the UNC basketball program, as his elite shooting can help replace some of the production lost by the graduation of Cormac Ryan. He also provides another viable scoring option, given that the Tar Heels are set to lose three of their five starters from a season ago.

Expectations are high for Cade Tyson as he joins the UNC basketball program, as 247Sports believes he's the top transfer among ACC qualifiers this offseason. Sure, the Tar Heels have only added one player via the transfer portal thus far (with likely at least one more to come), but the one that they have hauled in is a significant one, given what he could bring to the table for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
