After competing in NBA Summer League action for the Utah Jazz, Armando Bacot has signed a contract with another Western Conference Squad.

The Memphis Grizzlies announced that they've signed four players, including the former UNC basketball star. The other signings include Yuki Kawamura, Miye Oni and Maozinha Pereira.

Although the terms of the deal were not released (due to team policy), it's likely that it's an Exhibit 10 contract. This type of contract is a one-year contract at a minimum NBA salary, and it could be converted into a two-way contract before the season starts.

Bacot appeared in four summer league games for the Jazz, scoring 29 points while recording 20 rebounds, five steals and three assists in 62.5 minutes of action. He showcased the skills that made him such a valuable player during his time in Chapel Hill, proving that he can be an asset on both ends of the floor.

The former UNC basketball star will have to compete for a roster spot with the Grizzlies, a group that has some very familiar faces for college basketball fans. Zach Edey (formerly of Purdue) was the franchise's first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft while former Virginia star Mamadi Diakite is also currently on the roster. Additionally, former UNC Basketball commit G.G. Jackson (who elected to flip his commitment to South Carolina) is on the roster but is currently sidelined due to injury.

All you need is an opportunity, and Bacot is ready to make the most of his new opportunity with the Memphis Grizzlies in hopes of proving that he belongs on an NBA roster.
