Armando Bacot might not get the attention that some of his teammates (most notably RJ Davis) have received this year, but the UNC basketball program's fifth-year season has been an integral part of the team's success during the 2023-2024 season.

Sure, his numbers might have taken a slight dip (due to scoring and rebounding help that Hubert Davis brought in via the transfer portal), but it doesn't take away from what Bacot was able to accomplish in his final season as a Tar Heel.

For the third consecutive season, Bacot averaged a double-double, as he still posed as a nightmare matchup for opposing teams. To add to his offensive skillset, Bacot took his game up a notch defensively, as his first-team ACC All-Defense selection is a testament to how good he's been at not only protecting the rim, but being able to effectively switch to cover smaller (and faster) players both in and out of the paint.

The media took notice of Bacot's strong season, as he's been named a third-team All-American by the USBWA. Bacot and Davis are the only teammates to make this 15-player squad.

Bacot has put together a career to remember as a member of the UNC basketball program, as he'll close out his tenure as the school's all-time leading rebounder and double-doubles king. Sure, Bacot had an extra season to work with, but let's not forget: the big man set multiple records before his true senior season came to a close.

Needless to say, the UNC basketball program will miss Armando Bacot's presence once his career comes to a close in a few weeks, as he's been an asset to the University of North Carolina both on and off the court.
