UNC Basketball: Armando Bacot makes NBA Summer League debut
After not playing in the Utah Jazz's California Classic opener, former UNC basketball star Armando Bacot made his NBA Summer League debut on Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Squaring off against former teammate Cormac Ryan, Bacot scored four points in seven minutes of action. Although his minutes were rather limited, Bacot put in work on the glass, recording five rebounds in his debut.
The UNC basketball program's all-time leading rebounder, Bacot has always had a knack for rebounding the basketball. That skill was well on display on Tuesday night, as Bacot proved how he's willing, and able, to be a rebounding force on both sides of the court.
Ryan, after struggling shooting the basketball in his debut, had a much better performance on Tuesday night, as he finished with eight points while connecting on two of his five shot attempts in 15 minutes of action.
With three guys not suiting up for the Jazz, including big man Walker Kessler, there was more opportunity for others to earn some playing time. Bacot benefitted from this, as he was able to get his first taste of NBA Summer League action.
The Jazz are back in action on Wednesday night as they'll take on the Philadelphia 76ers at 9:00 PM EST.
