UNC Basketball: Armando Bacot accomplishes two milestones in win
Armando Bacot put together a very strong performance in the UNC basketball program's victory over Clemson on Saturday afternoon.
The fifth-year big man recorded 14 points and 16 rebounds as the No. 8-ranked Tar Heels defeated the No. 16-ranked Tigers on their home floor. In what has become a very common occurrance, Bacot once again found a way to rise up the UNC basketball program's leaderboards.
With his double-double, Bacot now has 75 in his UNC basketball career. Not only does he continue to pad his already secured record, but also continues to rise up the ranks among ACC qualifiers.
Bacot now sits just 12 double-doubles away from tying Tim Duncan's record of 87 that he set during his time at Wake Forest.
In terms of scoring, Bacot passed both Charlie Scott and Al Wood to move into fifth place on the UNC basketball program's all-time scoring list.
Tyler Hansbrough's scoring record won't be touched, but there's a chance that Bacot can pass Phil Ford for second on the list before his Tar Heel career comes to a close.
Yes, we know that Bacot has had a fifth year of collegiate eligibility to work with. However, it doesn't take away from what the Richmond, Virginia native has been able to accomplish during his UNC basketball career, as he'll go down as one of the best big men ever to wear the Carolina blue uniform.
