UNC Basketball: AJ Dybantsa cuts his recruitment list to 7 schools
The No. 1 player in the Class of 2025 is down to seven schools in his recruitment, as the UNC basketball program is one of the teams that has advanced.
AJ Dybantsa, a 6-foot-9 forward from Hurricane, Utah, is still considering the following schools:
Alabama
Auburn
BYU
North Carolina
Kansas State
Kansas
Baylor
In a recruiting class that has a lot of top-tier talent, Dybantsa is considered to be the best overall prospect among the group. Fortunately for the UNC basketball program, they are still firmly in the mix, as landing a player of Dybantsa's caliber would be a huge addition for Hubert Davis and company.
"A 6-foot-9 jumbo wing with a wingspan exceeding 7 feet, an emerging 200-plus-pound frame and an advanced understanding of how to score from his spots (even in a half-court game), AJ Dybantsa is the best prospect in high school basketball.
Dybantsa possesses a lethal pull-up game with a high release and a smooth ball rotation. He's been a celebrated prospect since before he entered high school. Yet he has avoided the pitfalls of early stardom by consistently improving his game at each level. He was the leading scorer in the 2023 Peach Jam as an underclassman and shows flashes of untapped potential on defense thanks to his size and movement skills.
The bottom line is this: Dybantsa controls his own future. If he continues on his current path, then there's no one in high school basketball with more potential than him."

Recently, it's seemed as if the Tar Heels weren't much involved for the Class of 2025's top recruits. Sure, Hubert Davis and his staff have been working to recruit some of these talents, but there hasn't been much noise surrounding the UNC basketball program, especially after five-star Darryn Peterson eliminated the Tar Heels from his recruitment just earlier this week.
Well, here's some good news for you on the recruiting trail, as the UNC basketball program is still in the mix for the top-ranked player in the Class of 2025.
The question is: can the Tar Heels find a way to get him to commit to the UNC basketball program?
