Vance Honeycutt has had a year to remember.

Throughout the 2024 season, Honeycutt has continued to show off his talent at the plate and in the field. He has led by example on and off the field for the UNC baseball program, and his efforts have earned him a spot on the First-Team All-Atlantic Region team.

With Honeycutt missing the end of the 2023 season due to a back injury, we knew he would enter the 2024 season with motivation, and we have seen just that. Honeycutt has been nothing short of spectacular this season, as this is not the first honor he's brought in for his outstanding junior season. He was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and was also tabbed as a first-team All-ACC selection. He might not be done bringing in individual awards, as he, and the Diamond Heels, hope to win the College World Series over the next few weeks.

Honeycutt recently added to his stellar season by breaking the single-season home run record for Carolina Baseball, a record he set during his freshman season on campus. We have also seen Honeycutt show up when the UNC baseball program has needed him the most in postseason play, as some timely home runs and defensive web-gems showcased his one-of-a-kind talent.

It will be very exciting to see Vance Honeycutt and the Tar Heels perform in Omaha this weekend against Virginia. If Honeycutt can continue to stay hot, we could see him receive more honors during the upcoming College World Series.

The UNC baseball program will open up the College World Series vs Virginia at 2:00 ET Friday in Omaha, Nebraska. It will be interesting to see what Honeycutt has in store for the sport's biggest stage.
