Decisions, decisions.

That's what Scott Forbes and the UNC baseball program have ahead of them, as their loss to No. 1 Tennessee on Sunday night put them in a win-or-go-home situation on Tuesday night against Florida State.

The Diamond Heels have their backs against the wall, as they must now win three games in consecutive days, as maintaining the pitching staff will be a major factor on whether or not they can pull it off.

Ahead of Tuesday afternoon's showdown with Florida State, Forbes provided some information as to how the Diamond Heels are planning on proceeding, at least with their starting pitcher, for the do-or-die game against the Seminoles.

On Sunday, Forbes stated that the Tar Heels plan on giving the ball to right-hander Aidan Haugh, who is 4-2 with a 4.53 ERA on the season. Haugh made his last start on June 2, as he allowed four runs over three innings of work in an eventual loss to LSU.

Sure, some will say that Jason DeCaro should get the start on short rest. However, in this type of situation, the Diamond Heels are going to need three starters if they can find a way to string wins together, so the plan to go with Haugh in this one makes sense.

Don't expect Haugh to go deep into this game (although we'd all love to see it), as it's likely that Haugh will be asked to go through the order once. If he can get through three or possibly even four innings of work, Forbes will turn the game over to the horses in the bullpen to close the rest out.

Based on his recent workload, Haugh should be expected to be able throw anywhere from 60-75 pitches. The more outs he can get, the better it is for the Diamond Heels, as they hope Haugh can not only eat some innings but also hold the Seminoles offense at bay.

It's win or go home for the UNC baseball program, as all hands will be on deck (or in this case, on the mound) for them as they hope to see their season continue for at least one more day.
