Scott Forbes is your 2024 ACC Coach of the Year!

For the first time in his career, Forbes has been tabbed as the conference's best manager, as he becomes just the third head coach in UNC baseball history to take home this award. He joins the legendary Mike Fox (2018) and Mike Robers (1989) as the only Tar Heel coaches to earn this recognition.

Forbes led the Tar Heels to their first ACC Coastal Division championship since the 2018 season, as the 2024 Diamond Heels are one of only 13 teams in the country to capture 40 or more victories. To add to this, the UNC baseball program has been without senior right-hander Jake Knapp for the entire season and lost Friday night starter Folger Boaz to injury as well.

In most instances, teams wouldn't be able to sustain the loss of arguably the team's best two starting pitchers.

North Carolina has had a historic season, especially on offense, as the lineup is simply a Murders' Row for opposing pitching staffs. There's no break in the lineup, as all 9 regulars (along with a handful of key reserves) have consistently found ways to add runs to the board.

Forbes deserves a ton of credit for the UNC baseball program's success, as the Diamond Heels have put together a regular season to remember. Although the regular season recognition is nice, Forbes and the Diamond Heels have postseason baseball at the forefront of their minds.
