The UNC baseball program suffered a loss to LSU on Sunday night, a loss that forced a winner-take-all matchup on Monday night in Chapel Hill.

At this point in the NCAA Tournament, pitching can be tricky, especially when you've played on consecutive days. The Diamond Heels have utilized a good amount of pitching, but have options heading into Monday night's final.

When asked after the game about where Sunday night's game left his pitching staff, Forbes had one simple thing to say:

"With all of our horses ready to go."

Cameron Padgett was likely a candidate to start on Monday night, but after throwing 2 1/3 innings on Sunday night, that might be out of the question.

Could ace Jason DeCaro, who threw 65 pitches over 4+ innings of work on Friday, come back on short rest to get the nod?

If you're the UNC baseball program, the good news is that your two key relievers have had at least one day of rest. After pitching on consecutive days to start the tournament, Dalton Pence got the night off on Sunday, while relief ace Matthew Matthijs hasn't thrown since Friday.

From an advantage standpoint, LSU's key reliever Griffin Herring was called upon to throw 90 pitches over 6.1 innings of work on Sunday, so his availability is definitely in question. The Tar Heels also saw some of LSU's other key relievers on Sunday night, so the advantage in terms of a fresher bullpen leans towards the Diamond Heels favor.

Of course, anything can happen in a winner-take-all matchup, as both team's seasons are on the line. As Forbes said, all of his horses will be available for this one, as the UNC baseball program has a plan in mind to help clinch their spot in the Super Regionals.
