The 2024 college baseball season is over, but that doesn't mean the Diamond Heels stop putting in the work!

A total of 13 UNC baseball players will be participating in Summer Collegiate League action, as here are there assignments for the next few months.

The Tar Heels have seven players participating in the annual Cape Cod League, as the freshmen trio of Jason DeCaro (Bourne Braves), Gavin Gallaher (Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox) and Luke Stevenson (Harwich Mariners) are the headliners of this group.

North Carolina will also have players representing the UNC baseball program in the Coastal Plains League, the Appalachian League as well as the Northwood League.

We all know how long the college baseball season is, as teams begin regular season play as early as February. For the Diamond Heels, their run went into June, as they were one of the final eight teams standing at this year's College World Series.

Now that the season is over, it's a great time for players to gain some valuable experience against some of the top players the country has to offer.

For guys who may not have had as much playing time as they hoped, the summer leagues are tremendous opportunities to face live pitching and gain in-game experience in the process, as the hope is that the skills improved upon during the summer months (and the entire offseason) pay dividends once the players arrive back on campus in the fall.

While the UNC baseball program won't play a real game until next year, the summer months will provide fans of the program with the opportunity to keep tabs on some of their favorite Tar Heels as they compete on the diamond for their respective summer league teams.
