The UNC baseball program is your Chapel Hill Regional champions, as they clinched their spot in the Super Regionals with a victory over defending national champion LSU on Monday night.

With the exciting weekend of baseball complete at Boshamer Stadium, the all-tournament squad for the event was announced. As expected, the Diamond Heels are well-represented, as four players earned all-tournament honors.

Gavin Gallaher is the headliner, as he was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Anthony Donofrio, Alberto Osuna, and Dalton Pence were also selected to the Chapel Hill Regional All-Tournament squad.

Gallaher's biggest perfromance of the weekend came on Friday night, as his walk-off grand slam propelled the UNC baseball program to a victory over LIU in the opening contest. His three hits and six RBIs in the game played a major role in the Diamond Heels winning the game, setting them up to advance to the winner's bracket.

Donofrio was a consistent presence on the base paths, as the veteran outfielder recorded 9 hits in four games played. He had a four-hit performance against LIU in the opener, and proceeded to put together a three-hit outing against LSU on Sunday night, as he recorded at least one hit in each of the Tar Heels four games.

Similar to Donofrio, Osuna had his best performances of the weekend on Friday and Sunday. Against LIU, Osuna recorded three hits and drove in two runs, while he had another multi-hit game on Sunday in the second meeting with the LSU Tigers.

What more can you say about Dalton Pence, who was an absolute workhorse for the Diamond Heels this weekend. Pence appeared in three of the four games the Tar Heels played, pitching at least two innings in each outing. After allowing two runs in two innings pitched against LIU, Pence was essentially unhittable the rest of the weekend, as he did not allow a run in 6.1 innings pitched against LSU.

It was definitely a strong team effort for the UNC baseball program this weekend in the Chapel Hill Regional, as multiple players made major impacts towards helping the program clinch a berth to the Super Regionals. The four players who earned a spot on the All-Tournament team are very deserving, as they played a significant role in the team's success.
