Mike Fox is heading to the College Baseball Hall of Fame!

The former head coach of the UNC baseball program is among the 11 person College Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2024. He is joined by some star-studded names, including Roger Clemens, Mike Schmidt and Mark Teixeira.

Fox put together a legendary 37-year head coaching victory, recording 1,487 wins over that span. When he took over as the UNC baseball program's head coach in 1999, Fox began a run in which the Diamond Heels won three ACC championships and made trips to the College World Series on seven different occasions (twice making it all the way to the finals).

In terms of player development, 111 of his former players went on to be drafted by MLB teams, including 15 first-round picks. A total of 27 of those players went on to play in the big leagues.

Here some other very notable individual accolades that UNC baseball players earned during the Mike Fox era:

-37 first-team All-ACC selections
-32 All-America honors
-Six ACC Freshman of the Year Awards
-Four ACC Pitcher of the Year Honors
-Three National Freshman of the Year honors
-Two National Player of the Year honors
-Two ACC Player of the Year Awards

Fox developed a legacy set to live on for future generations, and his mark on the UNC baseball program still impacts the university today. Now, Fox will rightfully take his place among the greatest to ever be a part of the college baseball world.

The 17th induction class will be honored at the Night of Champions, presented on February 13, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas, the home of the College Baseball Hall of Fame. The event is scheduled for the day before the 2025 college baseball season starts.
