UNC Baseball: Michael Busch has revenge game against former team
There definitely was some extra motivation when former UNC baseball standout Michael Busch took the field on Friday afternoon in Chicago.
Facing off against his former team for the first time, Busch made sure to let them know what they missed out on!
In very fitting nature, Busch hit his first home run as a Cub against his former team, as the blast off his bat helped extend his current team's lead.
The former Diamond Heel wasn't done, as he would make a huge play later on in the game, this time on defense. Holding on to a 9-7 lead, Busch made this SportsCenter Top 10 worthy play to secure the victory for the Cubs.
The win marked the fifth in a row for the Cubs, as they head into Saturday's action with a 5-2 record. Busch is fully embracing the opportunity to see regular at-bats, as he's gotten off to a very strong start in his first few games as a member of the Cubs organization.
Some might just think that it's another win in the early part of the season. For Michael Busch, Friday's victory will definitely mean more when he reflects on his career one day, as he made a huge statement against the team that elected to trade him instead of finding ways to get him in the everyday lineup.
The Dodgers loss is the Cubs gain, as the trade is already paying dividends for the guys in Chicago.
