Jason DeCaro and Luke Stevenson wasted no time making an impact at the college level. Now, the UNC baseball program's freshman duo will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on the national stage.

DeCaro and Stevenson have been invited to the 2024 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp. They are among 56 non-draft eligible players to be invited to this year's camp.

The summer schedule will kick off with the annual Stars vs. Stripes series at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, on June 26 and 27. Following the conclusion of the Training Camp, the rosters for the 2024 Collegiate National Team International Friendship Series and Summer League Tour will be named.

DeCaro worked his way into being the UNC baseball program's ace, as he stepped up in a major way when the Diamond Heels had some injuries within the starting rotation. Over 19 starts during his freshman season, the North Port, New York native posted a 6-1 record with a 3.66 ERA, as he allowed just 39 earned runs over 96 total innings of work.

Stevenson certainly lived up to the hype that surrounded him heading into the start of his college career, as he instantly became the UNC baseball program's starting catcher. He proved that the hype was justified, as he hit .284 with 14 home runs and 58 runs batted in over 65 games played while also doing a great job of handling the team's pitching staff.

Both players have bright futures in the sport of baseball, as the UNC baseball program hopes to build around these two for the foreseeable future. Now, these two rising sophomores will have the opportunity to compete alongside some of the best talent that the country has to offer in this year's USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp.
