Earlier in the 2023-2024 school year, the first annual ACC/SEC Challenge was featured in college basketball.

Months later, who would've thought that we'd have a rematch before the athletic year comes to a close?!

Eight teams remain as the College World Series gets underway in Omaha, Nebraska this weekend, as two conferences will be represented.

Four teams come from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The other four teams come from the Southeastern Conference.

For the UNC baseball program, they'll be one of three ACC squads on their side of the bracket, as they're joined by Virginia (who they open up against on Friday afternoon) as well as Virginia. NC State is the lone representative for the ACC on the other side of the field, as the Wolfpack will have to get past three SEC teams in order to have the possibility to face a conference opponent in the finals.

This is the best time of the year in the college baseball world, as the best teams remain and will battle it out on the sport's biggest stage. Of course, the talk for quite some time has surrounded the SEC, as the conference has won each of the last four titles and five of the last six.

Well, the ACC is making some noise and hopes to have one of its teams be the last one standing this go around.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, but just know that the upcoming ACC/SEC Challenge... I mean, the 2024 College World Series, should be an exciting one to watch!
