Alberto Osuna wasn't able to return to the UNC baseball program due to him exhausting his Division I eligibility, but his collegiate career isn't over just yet.

After entering the transfer portal, Osuna has found a new home, as he'll take his talents to Tampa to close out his college career.

Tampa is a perennial national power at the Division II level, as the program is coming off its 9th national championship. Last season, the Spartans posted an incredible 52-8 record as they hope Osuna can add some pop to next year's lineup.

Osuna began his college career at Walters Community College before transferring to the University of North Carolina. Once he arrived in Chapel Hill, Osuna provided a steady dose of power to the lineup, as he wrapped up his UNC baseball career with 45 home runs, the fifth-most in program history.

Although he struggled down the stretch, especially in postseason action, Osuna was a very capable hitter who did a lot of good things during his three seasons as a Tar Heel. Hopefully, Diamond Heel fans remember him for the many home runs he hit and the 140 runs he drove in, as he's a guy who continued to improve during his UNC baseball career.

Between the MLB Draft and players exhausting their collegiate eligibility, the UNC baseball program is set to lose a good amount of offensive talent from last season's College World Series roster. Osuna's presence will be missed, as the Diamond Heels have a lot of power to replace heading into the 2025 season.
