Top-tier high school talents visiting Chapel Hill for UNC basketball vs. Duke
It's a big night ahead for Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program, both on the court and on the recruiting trail as well.
As the current Tar Heels take on the rival Duke Blue Devils at the Dean Smith Center, some of the top high school prospects in the country will be visiting Chapel Hill for the marquee event.
Drake Powell, a UNC basketball commit of the Class of 2024, will be on-hand for the game, which shouldn't be surprising given that he's been at quite a few games this season already.
As previously noted, Class of 2025 five-star Caleb Wilson and four-star Jasper Johnson had scheduled official visits for this day, as the UNC basketball recruiting targets both shared some early highlights from their visits on social media.
Not only did both Wilson and Johnson take some photos in UNC basketball uniforms, but it appeared as if they attended the College GameDay broadcast as well. Johnson posted videos of the event, one which included current Tar Heels Armando Bacot and RJ Davis walking down the steps of the Smith Center to get to the court for their interviews.
The other notable recruit on campus is four-star Jackson Keith, another Class of 2025 talent.
This is the type of atmosphere that Hubert Davis and his staff want recruits to see, as this rivalry is the epitome of what it means to be a Tar Heel. There's no bigger stage in all of college basketball, as a game and atmosphere like tonight could really help boost the UNC basketball program's chances at landing a top-tier prospect like the ones on campus, especially if those players want to become part of this historic rivalry in the not so distant future.
And of course, a win tonight over the Blue Devils would also help strengthen the Tar Heels recruiting pitch!
