Top 50 recruit heavily considering the UNC women's basketball program
The first day of September is a big one in the recruitment of Caliyah “Lil Bit” DeVillasee, as she'll announce her college destination to begin the month.
Talia Goodman of On3 reported that DeVillasee is down to six schools in her recruitment, including Courtney Banghart and the UNC women's basketball program.
The 5-foot-9 point guard from Owings Mills, Maryland is also considering Georgia, Clemson, Cincinnati, West Virginia and Virginia Tech in the final stages of her recruitment. While there's no guarantee that she'll head to an ACC school, it's interesting to note that three of her six finalists come from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
DeVillasee is a four-star guard who ESPN HoopGurlz currently ranks as the No. 43 overall player from the Class of 2026. When she spoke to Goodman about her list of finalists, the Maryland native had some good things to say about the Tar Heels.
Banghart and the UNC women's basketball program have firmly been in the mix for some of the top talents that the Class of 2025 has to offer. It feels like every day we're learning about another top-tier player who includes North Carolina among their mix of finalists, but now we wait and see which ones ultimately choose to spend their collegiate career in Chapel Hill.
Without a doubt, the UNC women's basketball program's coaching staff has been putting in the work on the recruiting trail.
