Cedric Gray has finally heard his name called during the NFL Draft!

Gray was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the No .106 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Although most draft analysts viewed him as a potential Day 2 selection, Gray didn't have to wait long on Day 3 to hear his name called, as he was one of the first ones called in the fourth round.

A three-year starter at North Carolina, Gray developed into one of the country's best linebackers. Over those three seasons, Gray was an absolute force, recording 369 tackles (30 for loss), 8.5 sacks, 18 passes defended, and five interceptions.

Although the UNC football program's defensive unit had its fair share of struggles over the last few years, Gray was a major bright spot, as his ability to make impactful plays was a huge asset for the Tar Heels on many occasions.

Oh yeah, and he's still only 21-years-old! His best football is certainly still ahead of him!

Sure, Gray deserved to be selected much earlier than he was. However, this will certainly put a chip on his shoulder, as he will have to prove to NFL executives across the league that they made a major mistake in letting him slip so far in the draft. Gray is used to these type of circumstances, as he didn't have a Power-5 offer during his high school recruitment until Mack Brown and the Tar Heels jumped into the mix.

Tar Heel fans can tell you just how good Cedric Gray is, as it wouldn't be a surprise to anyone surrounding the UNC football program if this guy becomes one of the best linebackers in the NFL at some point in his career.

The Titans certainly got a good one, as Gray is a player who can easily be an impactful player for the franchise as soon as he gets into the building over the next few weeks.
