Although this top 100 prospect in the Class of 2026 hasn't heard from the Tar Heels yet, he's working hard to make sure an offer comes his way.

Although it's still relatively early in the recruiting process for the Class of 2026, some high school athletes already have their ideal school in mind.

For Herly Brutus, only one university has extended an offer up to this point, but the hope is that many more are on the way, including one from his dream school: North Carolina.

Brutus spoke to Pro Insight at the recent Crossroads Elite Invitational Camp, where he confirmed that the UNC basketball program is the one he hopes to hear from during his recruitment.

"I had UNC, and it's still UNC now. And I'm hoping to get that offer sooner or later."

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound rising junior from Umatilla, Florida, is considered a top-100 prospect in the Class of 2026, as 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 66 overall player in the class. He's also currently regarded as the No. 10-ranked player out of the state of Florida.

While the offers haven't started to roll in just yet, Brutus is impressing those who have seen him play. Eric Bossi of 247Sports recently provided this breakdown of Brutus' game after watching him compete at the Crossroads Elite Invitational Camp:

"Brutus is a tough and athletic wing who first caught our attention this spring for his play with the Florida Rebels in the 16U division of Nike's EYBL. Standing about 6-foot-5 with relatively long arms, Brutus has a motor that runs nonstop. Even in a camp setting where the intensity level sometimes hung in the light cardio range, he always brought it. He attacks the rim, can create some jumpers for himself and has defensive presence."

There's no guarantee that the UNC basketball program will show interest in Brutus on the recruiting trail, but it's safe to say that he'll do anything he can to attract the interest from his "dream school." If Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels decide to jump into the mix for his recruitment, they may just become the immediate favorites to land this four-star talent who has the potential to make a major jump in the rankings before his recruitment comes to a close.
