The UNC Football program to honor Julius Peppers ahead of CFB Hall of Fame Induction
Ahead of his induction into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame, the UNC football program is set to honor the legendary Julius Peppers.
The program announced they will honor Peppers during their upcoming conference clash against Pittsburgh in Chapel Hill on Saturday afternoon. His official induction into the College Football Hall of fame will occur on December 14 in Las Vegas.
Before his NFL career even got started, Peppers made a name for himself as a dominant force for the UNC football program. Peppers played for the Tar Heels from 1999-2001, as he was a unanimous first-team All-American during the 2021 season. He won the Chuck Bednarik Award for the nation's top defensive player and the Rotary Lombardi Award, which at the time was given to the nation's top interior lineman. He finished his college career with 177 tackles, 30.5 sacks, 53 TFL, five INTs and five forced fumbles.
It's been quite the year for Peppers, who was recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was just the third UNC football player ever to earn that exclusive honor, as it goes to show just how dominant he was during his playing career.
Tar Heel fans remember vividly watching No. 49 make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks, as fans in attendance on Saturday afternoon will be able to celebrate his legacy and his incredible Hall of Fame career.
