According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Jacolby Criswell is expected to start at quarterback for the UNC football program on Saturday against JMU. If Criswell does get the start, it would be his second career start, as his first came three seasons ago during his first stint with the Tar Heels. Criswell will also be the third quarterback to start a game for the Tar Heels through four weeks of the regular season.

Criswell was the better of the two quarterbacks last week against NC Central. The veteran provided stability and production for the offensive unit, completing 14-of-23 for 161 yards with a touchdown pass after taking over at quarterback during the team's third offensive series.

While Criswell had the hot hand against NC Central and is likely to get the nod on Saturday afternoon, the UNC football program's quarterback situation moving forward is very much up in the air. Don't be surprised to see both Criswell and Conner Harrell on Saturday (and moving forward), as the position may ultimately be determined by matchups or who is producing at a higher level at the current time.

Neither quarterback has much game experience under their belt, Criswell is the veteran who has been around for a significant amount of time. On Saturday, he'll have the opportunity to prove that he finally deserves the chance to be a starting quarterback for the UNC football program, as the Tar Heels hope that he can continue to build on his production from the week prior.
