The UNC Football program allows 70 points in pathetic loss to JMU

There aren't many words to describe how poorly the UNC football program played on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill.

What did we all just have to witness...

JMU. 50. 441. Final. 70. 2364

Yes, that score above is right (and no, it's not a basketball score- heck, our basketball team wouldn't lose by 20 to JMU.)

Mack Brown and the UNC football program put together one of the most embarrassing performances in school history as they allowed 70 points to James Madison on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill. They are lucky that the Dukes slowed down, because they were on pace for over 100 points at halftime.

Although the first three wins of the season highlighted some major issues with this team, essentially every single one came out on Saturday afternoon. It's not only a testament to the strength of schedule the Tar Heels faced early on, but the team's inability to be ready to play on game day.

Take the fourth quarter of the NC Central game out and the same could be said about that game.

The UNC football program let JMU do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted: blocking punts, converting on two-point conversions, throwing the ball down the field (or heck, anywhere they wanted essentially).

Of course, you can't necessarily put all the blame on Jacolby Criswell, who threw for 475 yards as he was essentially forced to play catch up the entire game, but it's very evident that the issues with the UNC football program start from the top.

The defense still stinks, the special teams unit is still atrocious, and regardless of how you feel about the coaching staff, they've been unable to rectify these issues for a few years now. At some point, you have to stop interchanging coordinators and realize that the time for a change at the helm might be long overdue.

After a performance like that one, I wouldn't be surprised if the UNC football program doesn't win another game all season. That's how pathetic of a performance that was.
