The UNC Basketball program becomes first ACC school to reach this milestone
The UNC basketball program has won a lot of games throughout its rich history.
On Saturday, North Carolina accomplished something that no other ACC school has yet to do.
With their victory over Florida State, the Tar Heels secured their 750th victory in ACC play, becoming the first program within the conference to accomplish the feat.
The University of North Carolina was among the charter members of the ACC when the conference was established on June 14, 1953. Since then, the UNC basketball program has accomplished a lot of success on the court, which has allowed them to reach this wins milestone.
Of course, the future of the Atlantic Coast Conference is in doubt with all the conference re-alignment that has taken place. North Carolina has been discussed as a program that may elect to move to another conference over time, but for now, the Tar Heels remain in the conference they've been in for quite some time.
The history of the UNC basketball program essentially speaks for itself, as the winning culture that has formed in Chapel Hill is one that has carried on for many generations. With 750 ACC victories under their belt, the UNC basketball program hopes that more are on the way,
If the Tar Heels keep winning at this pace, it won't be very long before we start talking about them becoming the first ACC team to have 800+ conference victories!
