Shortly after being selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, former UNC football standout Devontez 'Tez' Walker has been putting in the work.

Walker participated in the Ravens rookie camp this past week, and it didn't take long for him to make a good impression. While speaking to the media, his new head coach, John Harbaugh, had some great things to say about the former Tar Heel:

“You knew he was going to be fast and you knew he was going to be big. He showed that. I was impressed with how well he moved changing direction. I didn’t know if he was going to change direction quite as well as he did the last two days. He caught the ball really well. So, yeah, he’s off to a really great start.”

It's good to see Walker getting off to a strong start to begin his professional career, as now is the time for him to earn his opportunities come Sundays this fall. The Ravens drafted him for a reason, as they believe he can be a big asset for them offensively, as Walker will look to prove them right by making an impact from the word go.

Being drafted by the Ravens seems to be a great landing spot for Walker, as not many rookie wide receivers get the opportunity to catch passes from one of the top quarterbacks in the game. Lamar Jackson has shown the ability to spread the ball around the field, as Walker could be one of the players that helps fill the role Odell Beckham Jr. played a season ago.

As we get closer to the season, it will be interesting to see how Walker fares with his new team. Of the three Tar Heels who were selected in this year's draft, Walker may be in the best position to see the field immediately, as his skillset and ability could earn him a spot among the first team offense.
