Seth Trimble announces that he will return to UNC basketball program
Seth Trimble is back!
Yes, you read that right.
After previously entering the transfer portal to pursue other options, Trimble has elected to withdraw his name and return to the UNC basketball program for the 2024-2025 season. The rising junior made the announcement via social media.
Fans were disappointed when Trimble announced his original plans, as he has grown into a fan favorite in Chapel Hill. Tar Heel fans saw first-hand the improvement of his game between his freshman and sophomore seasons, as he not only was arguably the team's best defender but also improved his ability to score the basketball.
"I've taken time to realize where my home is. After much consideration, I've decided my heart and soul belong in Chapel Hill.
Tar Heel Nation, let's work." - Seth Trimble
Heading into his junior season in Chapel Hill, Trimble will once again factor into the UNC basketball program's backcourt. He was a very reliable sixth man on this year's squad and could very well serve in a similar role this upcoming season.
With Trimble's announced return, the UNC basketball program currently has four open scholarships to work with. We'll have to wait and see how the rest of the roster shapes up over the next couple of weeks,
The main thing is this: Seth Trimble is returning to North Carolina, the place where he truly belongs. It didn't feel right to see him heading elsewhere, as his soul searching has rightfully led him back to Chapel Hill.
Needless to say, this is major news for the UNC basketball program.
