Sam Howell has high praise for former UNC football teammate Drake Maye
It's no secret that Sam Howell and Drake Maye have a very close relationship.
Their bond began during Howell's final season with the UNC football program, as Maye served as his backup. Howell departed to the NFL and Maye took over the reins in North Carolina, but the two remained very much connected regardless or no longer being teammates.
Shortly after Maye was selected by the New England Patriots with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Howell took to social media to hype up his close friend and former teammate.
Howell proclaimed Maye as the "Best QB in the draft," as he added that he's very proud of what Maye has accomplished. Of course, Howell may be a little biased, but hey, no one here is disagreeing with his statement!
Now that both players are in the NFL, the hope is that they can find success with their respective teams. Howell was traded from the Washington Commanders to the Seattle Seahawks this offseason, while Maye looks to be the future franchise quarterback in New England.
In case you were wondering: the Seahawks and Patriots meet up during the 2024 season in Foxboro. If all goes well, maybe we'll have the first battle between Howell and Maye on an NFL field.
Now wouldn't that be something!
