Heading into the week, we knew that we would hear some type of news regarding some UNC basketball standouts.

With the deadline to enter the NBA Draft approaching, as well as the transfer portal window coming closer to ending, student-athletes have a few days to make their final decisions.

Although we haven't heard from star guard RJ Davis officially, this credible insider is banking on him returning to Chapel Hill for the 2024-2025 season.

Shortly after Seth Trimble announced his intentions to return to North Carolina, Matt Norlander of CBS Sports sent out this above tweet. In the tweet, Norlander stated that Davis is "on board to return to," as he also cited that Elliot Cadeau (who announced his future intentions on his brother's Twitch stream earlier in the week) is returning as well.

This is major news for the UNC basketball program, as they'll return an All-American caliber guard for one more season. The Tar Heels back court has some elite talent, as the program is also adding some very good five-star freshman in Ian Jackson and Drake Powell.

Davis had a senior season to remember, as he was tabbed as the ACC Player of the Year and was later named a consensus first-team All-American. There isn't much left for Davis to accomplish at North Carolina other than to win a National Championship, as it looks like he'll utilize his extra season of collegiate eligibility in order to do so.

Of course, we'll wait to hear officially from Davis what his future plans are, but all signs are pointing towards him staying for another season, which is major news for the UNC Basketball program.

Sometimes, the best additions are the ones you already have, as the Tar Heels seemed to have gotten two of their very own back on Tuesday.
