RJ Davis solidifies place among UNC basketball program's all-time leading scorers
The UNC basketball program has a illustrious history that features many of the greatest college basketball players of all-time.
As he continues in his senior season at North Carolina, RJ Davis actively is putting himself in the same category as the most elite current and former Tar Heels.
With 14 points in the win over NC State on Saturday afternoon, Davis passed Brad Daughterty for tenth place on the UNC basketball program's all-time scoring leaderboard. Now sitting at 1,926 career points, Davis is just 48 points away from tying Antawn Jamison for ninth place on the all-time list and is in reach of tying (and surpassing) Larry Miller before potentially reaching the 2,000 career points milestone.
Given that Davis is averaging 21.4 points per-game, it's very possible that the 2,000 career points milestone is in reach this season.
The Tar Heels have two regular season games remaining and have two guaranteed postseason games (at least one in both the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament). If Davis can continue his strong scoring, Davis might find himself much higher on the list before his senior season comes to a close.

It's also important to remember that Davis has the ability to come back for a fifth season. Of course, people like to put an asterisk next to players who return for that additional season, but even if he does return for another year, his ability to crack the top 10 in just four seasons shouldn't be discredited by any means.
Davis has been an integral part of the UNC basketball program since his arrival on campus. His senior season has taken his resume to a whole new level, as he appears to be the clear front-runner for the ACC Player of the Year and is a strong contender for All-American honors as well.
And, of course, his No. 4 looks like it will be soon be hanging in the rafters of the Dean Smith Center in the near future as well.
