RJ Davis represents UNC Basketball as ACC Excellence Award Recipient
RJ Davis has been an outstanding representation of what a student-athlete should strive to be.
Along with his All-American level skills on the basketball court, Davis has fully taken advantage of his opportunities in the classroom as well, as his academic achievements are just as good as his basketball resume.
In recognition of his outstanding efforts, Davis has been named one of the 26 recipients for the 2024 ACC Excellence Award.
The ACC Excellence Award recognizes outstanding graduates from the ACC member institutions. The goal of the award is to highlight the students embodying the student-athlete ideal. The ACC has a strong history of providing world-class education and competition, as the awardees are exemplary students, athletes, and contributors to the community and society that serve as prime examples for their fellow students to follow.
Two North Carolina student-athletes received this honor this year, as Fiona Crawley of the UNC women's tennis program also earned the honor. This duo was among the four current Tar Heels to earn 2024 Postgraduate Awards from the ACC, as each recipient will receive $9,000 toward their respective graduate education.
Now in his senior year at North Carolina, Davis has been a prime example of what this award is all about.
We often talk about how good a basketball player is, but he works just as hard in the classroom. Along with his daily work as a student-athlete, Davis is also a very respectful individual who sets a tremendous example wherever he goes, as his friendly personality and kindness make him a true pleasure to be around.
The UNC basketball program has a rich history of players who have worn the Carolina Blue, as on the court accolades often take center stage. However, the program has also possessed plenty amazing student-athletes, as Davis certainly fits the bill to be among that category.
