RJ Davis and the UNC basketball program are BALLIN!

RJ Davis. What more can you even say at this point?!

Davis continued his incredible senior season with arguably his best performance to date, scoring a career-high 36 points to lead the UNC basketball program to a 21-point victory over Wake Forest on Monday night.

The Tar Heels got off to a sluggish start offensively, but Davis was on from the onset. Even though North Carolina trailed by one at the half, the boys in Carolina Blue came out with a vengeance in the second half, led by Davis' offensive explosion.

Davis scored 23 of his 36 points in the second half as the Tar Heels started to click offensively as they pulled away from the Demon Deacons. A huge focal point of the game was the impact of the Tar Heels guards, as Davis and freshman guard Elliot Cadeau combined for 50 points of their own.

North Carolina had a chance to pull away in the first half, but Wake Forest not only erased a nine-point deficit, but took the lead just before the teams headed to the locker rooms. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't keep up in the second half, as the Tar Heels outscored them by 22 over the final 20 minutes of action.

The Tar Heels have now won 9 straight games, as no test seems to big for this group at this point in the season. Although the first half wasn't as good as they hoped, this unit turned it on in the second half to pick up not only a convincing victory over a quality opponent, but by making a huge statement in the ACC as they continue to dominate the conference as we inch closer to February.

After the win against Wake Forest, it's very difficult not to believe that this year's UNC basketball team is a legit contender. This group continues to prove how good it is (and can be) on a nightly basis at this point.
