PJ Hall addresses rumors of his potential transfer to North Carolina
Toward the end of the 2023-2024 college basketball season, rumors started to circulate surrounding potential transfers that could be in play for the UNC basketball program.
One of the biggest rumors surrounded Clemson's PJ Hall, a very notable big man who Tar Heels fans know well from his battles with Armando Bacot. Given that Bacot was about to exhaust his eligibility, Hall was a player tied to the UNC basketball program if he chose to utilize his fifth season of eligibility at the college level.
Although rumors circulated, nothing ever came from it, as Hall declared for the NBA Draft and hired an agent in the process. During the NBA Draft Combine, Hall spoke to reporters and was eager to put those rumors to rest.
"In terms of closing the door (playing another season at the college ranks), there was a weird rumor about me going to UNC. I wanted to clear the air that it was absolutely never a possibility. That was never going to happen."
Sure, Hall took the opportunity to show his loyalty to Clemson, as you can't blame him for setting the record straight. Now that he's officially focused on the NBA, Hall can make comments like that, as he has no desire to return to the college level.
However, we're going to call Hall's bluff here a bit. You mean to tell us that if he entered the transfer portal and Hubert Davis came calling, Hall wouldn't be intrigued to spend his final collegiate season with a team that could have national championship caliber potential?
Never say never, my friend.
In this new world of the wild, wild, transfer portal, this is another rumor that can now officially be put to rest.
As per his words, PJ Hall had absolutely no desire to join the UNC basketball program.
