Not many student-athletes possess the talent that Kendre Harrison has, as the Reidsville, North Carolina native is a top-tier prospect in both football and basketball.

Mack Brown and Hubert Davis have something in common on the recruiting trail, as both the UNC football and UNC basketball programs have extended offers his way. With the intent of playing both sports at the college level, Harrison is now focusing his recruitment on six schools.

The No. 1 overall ranked tight end in the Class of 2026 has included North Carolina among his finalists, a list that includes Florida State, Miami, Penn State, Oregon and Tennessee.

"A two-sport star with an intimidating frame that looks to be north of 6-foot-6. Could be molded into a variety of different things, but ceiling might ultimately be highest as an in-line tight end given large catch radius and potential as a blocker. Rare size makes him a straight up mismatch for high school defenders, especially in the red zone as he fights for positioning. Not the sharpest route runner at this stage in his development, but can adjust to off-target throws and is a handful to bring down in the open field once he secures the prize. Will move people out of the way and open up run lanes, but improved technique will only allow him to make more of an impact at the point of attack. Must keep progressing and buy into the process at the program of his choice, but has the tools to be a true difference-maker on Saturdays. Might also get a look on defense as he has flashed the ability to redirect and chase down quarterbacks." - Andrew Ivins, Director of Scouting, 247Sports

This is big news for the University of North Carolina, as this Class of 2026 star has earned a ton of attention from both the UNC football and UNC basketball programs. North Carolina is no stranger to two-sport stars, as we all remember what soon to be Pro Football Hall of Famer Julius Peppers did on the gridiron and on the basketball court during his stay in Chapel Hill.

Now that his recruitment is down to six schools, the University of North Carolina will look to keep this in-state product at home. It will be a team effort, as the Tar Heels will have to convince Harrison that he wants to ultimately compete for both the UNC football and UNC basketball programs during his collegiate career.
