It's been a while since UNC football fans could celebrate a pick-six by the defensive unit.

In fact, prior to Saturday's contest against Pittsburgh, the last pick-six for the Tar Heels came courtesy of Storm Duck on December 27, 2019 in the Military Bowl against Temple.

Fortunately, sophomore Kaleb Cost stopped the drought with his 84-yard pick-six on Saturday. If you miss it, view the clip below:

Cost jumped in front of the pass from Pittsburgh quarterback Eli Holstein to take it to the house. He also added a nice juke move to elude Holstein on his way to the end zone.

The 84-yard pick-six is the seventh longest in UNC football program history and the longest since Ryan Walker's 100-yarder against San Diego State.

For a defense that has struggled to force turnovers through the air, it was very encouraging to see Cost make such a big play early on in the game. His baseball skills were well on display as he read the ball well, made the catch and was able to hustle to the end zone.
