The Kentucky Wildcats pulled out a hard-fought victory over the UNC basketball program on Saturday night in a game that came down to the wire.

Shortly after the victory, head coach John Calipari spoke to the media, as the long-time collegiate head coach had some very high praise for this year's Tar Heels' squad.

Calipari started by saying that North Carolina is a "Final Four level team." If that wasn't high enough praise for this year's squad, Calipari went on to talk about some of the current Tar Heels, most notably RJ Davis.

"Davis is one of the best players in the country right now. Three-level scorer: layup, mid-range, and three"

Some fans of the UNC basketball program seem to think that the loss to a very good and athletic Kentucky Wildcats team is the end of the world. Fortunately, the season isn't decided on December 16, as there's plenty of basketball left to be played.

You may not like him, but you have to respect what John Calipari has been able to do as a head coach during his career. This is a coach who has been around some very good teams and has a lot of basketball knowledge, so it's safe to say that he probably knows a Final Four-caliber team when he sees one.

Maybe we'll look back on this quote in a few months to see if Calipari was right about this group. We all hope the Hall of Fame coach 's statement will become true in March!
