It's Memorial Day Weekend, but that doesn't stop Hubert Davis and his UNC basketball coaching staff from hitting the recruiting trail.

David Sisk of Tar Heel Illustrated first reported that the Tar Heels coaching staff are expected to be in Colorado Springs this weekend. The purpose of the trip is to check out the Team USA 18U Training Camp that is being held.

Some of the best high school talent will be on-hand competing in this event, as they'll all be vying for spots for the upcoming FIBA Americas U18 championship in Bueno Aires.

The UNC basketball program has shown heavy interest in some of the players who will be competing. At the current moment, five student-athletes who will be on-hand have already received offers from North Carolina. Those players include:

Five-star Jasper Johnson
Five-star Caleb Wilson
Five-star Nate Ament
Four-star Nikolas Khamenia
Four-star Malachi Moreno

Three of the five players listed above (in bold) received offers from the UNC basketball program within the last week following the open recruiting period. Johnson and Wilson have been recruiting targets for quite some time now, as the Tar Heels have heavily pursued both players.

It makes a ton of sense for Hubert Davis and his staff to attend, as they not only can watch their current recruiting targets but can also take a closer look at some of the other prospects who will be competing. Who knows, maybe a player or two stands out to where the program decides to extend an offer or begin showing more interest in that respective player.

By the end of the weekend, the 12-man roster will be finalized, as we'll have to wait and see how many UNC basketball recruiting targets make the final cut.
