The first day of the live recruiting period began on Friday, as the UNC basketball program wasted no time taking a lot at some of their top recruiting targets.

One of the players that Hubert Davis and Sean May made sure to watch was Class of 2025 star Nate Ament, who put on an absolute show at the Adidas 3Stripes Select Basketball event in Texas.

Ament, the No. 13 ranked player in the Class of 2025 (according to 247Sports), put together a 25-point performance in his team's victory. He drained five of his 9 attempts from beyond the arc as he showcased his talents in front of a large crowd of Division I coaches.

Standing at 6-foot-9, you can see why Hubert Davis and his staff are intrigued by this prospect. He has the makeup of being the perfect "stretch four," a role that is very important for Davis' offensive system.

Based on the recent trajectory of his recruitment, Ament seems to be trending toward being a five-star prospect when the updated rankings come out. After the performance they saw on Friday, expect to hear a lot more about the UNC basketball program trying to lure this talented prospect to Chapel Hill over the next few months.
