Davion Gause

In his first game in front of the home crowd at Kenan Stadium, Davion Gause recorded his first 100-yard performance. He ended the afternoon with 16 carries for 105 yards and his first collegiate touchdown, a performance that was huge in multiple ways.

Not only did it allow the Tar Heels to rest star running back Omarion Hampton (who suffered an injury earlier in the game), but it also provided hope for the team's running back depth behind Hampton. We saw a glimpse of why the UNC football program's coaching staff is so high on this true freshman and the hope is that he can continue building on this outstanding performance.
