Harrison Ingram suffers minor injury setback during NBA Draft workout
While he aims to improve his NBA draft stock, Harrison Ingram wants every single opportunity to showcase his skills to executives around the league.
However, the former UNC basketball standout has a minor setback in that process, as he recently suffered an injury that will sideline him at least a couple of days.
While working out with the Orlando Magic on Sunday, Ingram took an inadvertent elbow to the face. The elbow caused him to have to receive stitches, as his team decided that he needed three to five days to be sidelined as a precaution.
Ingram was forced to miss his pre-draft workout with the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, but still made the trip to Indianapolis to be a spectator. Although he couldn't physically workout, he was able to still meet with team executives after the session was over.
The former Tar Heel spoke to the media following the Pacers pre-draft workout, as he provided some information on his injury.
Sure, the timing of the injury wasn't ideal, as no NBA Draft prospect wants to miss any opportunities to compete during the process. However, it's a sigh of relief that the injury is minor in nature, as Ingram should be back on the court in the very near future.
With a bunch of pre-draft workouts coming up, it made sense for Ingram and his team to make the decision to pause his draft preparation after suffering the injury. He'll have plenty of time to get back on the court and prove that an NBA team should take a chance on him when the draft rolls around at the end of the month.
