Drake Maye is getting PAID!

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the former UNC football star has officially signed his rookie deal with the New England Patriots.

That deal comes with a huge signing bonus.

Maye's contract is a four-year deal that includes $36.6 million in fully guaranteed money. The deal also includes a fifth-year team option for the 2028 season.

Of that $36.6 million, Maye received $23.4 of that in a signing bonus.

This deal is very team-friendly for a team looking to rebuild. In 2024, Maye will earn a base salary of $795,000 while carrying a cap hit of $6,661,775.

Here's how much money Maye will make as part of his base salary, courtesy of Spotrac:

2024: $795,000
2025: $960,000
2026: $1,075,000
2027: $1,190,000

Here is the breakdown of the cap hit numbers:

2024: $6,661,775
2025: $8,327,219
2026: $9,992,663
2027: $11,658,107

As the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, it was well-known that Maye would be set for a big payday. These are the type of deals that make a ton of sense for rebuilding teams, as they have the opportunity to add talented players around the guy they hope turns out to be the next face of the franchise.
