Coby White's career night keeps Chicago Bulls' season alive
The NBA Play-In Tournament provides extra teams an opportunity to earn a playoff spot.
For Coby White and the Chicago Bulls, they are looking to make the most of their opportunity.
The former UNC basketball star picked a great night to put together a career performance, as his career-high 42 points led the Bulls to a 131-116 over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
In the effort, White shot a staggering 71% from the floor while knocking down 9 of his 10 attempts at the free throw line. His outstanding performance wasn't limited to putting the ball in the basket, as he also recorded 9 rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 43 minutes of action.
With his stat line on Wednesday night, White joined another very notable UNC basketball alum as the only players to accomplish this respective feat:
White has been tremendous all season long, as the former Tar Heel should be the clear frontrunner for the league's Most Improved Player award. He has taken his game to the next level and has emerged as a player that the Chicago Bulls franchise can build around.
Now, of course, the job isn't finished, as White and the Bulls will need to win on Friday night against the Miami Heat to secure the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. The Bulls are hopeful that White has another special performance brewing to help them keep their season alive.
Fans of the UNC basketball program can tell you that Coby White has always been a certified bucket. This season, White is proving to the world just how good he is at the sport of basketball.
