Saturday afternoon didn't feature a typical Armando Bacot type of performance for the UNC basketball program, as the fifth-year big man was limited to just five points and four rebounds.

Although his stat line wasn't the most notable in the Tar Heels victory over Florida State, Bacot still found a way to make some UNC basketball history in the process.

Bacot is now the first UNC basketball ever to reach the 1,000 defensive rebounds mark. It's just another milestone that Bacot has accomplished in what is a rather remarkable collegiate career.

Before you flood our mentions with "well, Bacot has had five years to do this" we are well-aware of that fact. However, it doesn't take away from what the Richmond, Virginia native has accomplished as a Tar Heel, as he continues to be an outstanding player for the UNC basketball program.

Instead of bashing Bacot for taking advantage of an extra season of eligibility, it's time that college basketball fans start just to sit back and appreciate what Bacot has done throughout his career. With the COVID year and the NIL rules in place, Bacot is simply capitalizing on his opportunities, giving him more time to accomplish milestones and accolades as he wraps up his UNC basketball career in just a few short weeks.

Saturday was another reminder of Bacot's greatness, as he has solidified himself among the greatest rebounders that the UNC basketball program has ever had, and in case you forgot, there's been plenty of elite rebounding big men that have worn the Carolina Blue.
