Andy Katz flat-out disrespects UNC basketball star RJ Davis
Leading up to the 2024-2025 season, college basketball analyst Andy Katz has been ranking the top players at each respective position.
His latest list is simply laughable.
Katz ranks UNC basketball star RJ Davis as the second-best guard in the country. No, Mark Sears or even Caleb Love don't hold down the top spot; it's Rutgers freshman Dylan Harper who tops the list.
Say WHAT?!
"The consensus First Team All-American selection returns for his fifth season with the Tar Heels, hoping to lead his squad back to the national championship game. Davis led North Carolina in scoring last season, averaging 21.2 points per game. He will once again be a key part of Hubert Davis' squad that has high expectations heading into the upcoming season."
I get the hype around Harper, a five-star prospect who is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. However, how can you logically put a player at the top of the list who hasn't stepped foot on a college court yet above multiple returning All-American caliber guards?
To me, it makes NO sense.
Sure, is it worth getting mad over? Probably not. Regardless, the disrespect toward RJ Davis needs to stop, as there is NO guard in the country better than him leading up to the 2024-2025 season.
It's okay though: keep doubting RJ Davis. He'll continue to prove all the haters wrong on the court.
