Following his official visit to North Carolina over the weekend, five-star guard Braylon Mullins made headlines regarding a decision he made in his recruitment process.

Mullins has elected to cancel his scheduled upcoming visit to rival Duke, likely indicating that the Blue Devils are no longer in the mix.

The timing of the decision is one that should intrigued UNC basketball fans, given how Mullins spent the weekend on campus in Chapel Hill. Now, it's very important to remember that his visit to North Carolina may not have any ties to his decision to cancel his visit to Duke, but in the same token, it could have played a role in the decision.

Along with North Carolina, Mullins has also made official visits to UConn and Michigan. According to Adam Zagoria's report, a visit to Tennessee could also still be in play before his recruitment comes to an end.

Although he narrowed his finalists to a list of 10, this might end up being a four-team race at this point in his recruitment between the schools that have gotten the five-star sharpshooter on campus.

For the UNC basketball program, all indications point to Mullins' visit being a good one. It appears as if his recruitment is starting to get closer to the finish line, but don't think he's an automatic lock to be a Tar Heel given this recent news.

Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program still have work to do in order to earn a commitment from this talented Class of 2025 student-athlete.
